Many believe that knowledge and spiritual maturity go hand in hand. Indeed, if we pray sincerely for wisdom we will surely obtain it. This article deals with what we must do to prepare ourselves to accept this gift. 1. If our hearts and minds are biased this way, then we will have little desire for wisdom. Approach life’s challenges seriously and with holiness. 2. Do not permit meanness and unenthusiastic emotion to rule your life. These things are enemies of Christianity and will impede us as we seek wisdom. 3. Before anything else, the love of Christ should be in your heart and the driving force behind all that you do. Confidence in God and love for His Son Jesus Christ is the most important priority for all Christian believers. A person must have this desire and be in this mindset before wisdom can follow. 4. As you inquire about to draw closer to our Lord and augment your spirituality and relationship with him, the craving for wisdom will naturally follow. Ask for it in prayer and you will receive it. 5. Your relationship with our Lord must be maintained. All of us have to take care that our faith and Christian discipline is not diluted over time by the many temptations this world has to offer. If our faith and Christian love is diminished, so will our wisdom and ability to deal with life’s problems and challenges. 6. The mission for wisdom is in itself a shrewd and noble thing. But, it is important to remember that constant and heartfelt prayer is the wisest thing any of us can connect in when seeking instruction and resolution form our Lord.
